Bhote Koshi river rafting

  • Total Duration:6 Days
  • Destination:Nepal
  • Trip Grade:Moderate

Overview

Bhote Koshi river rafting is one of the best destination for the white water river rafting in Nepal.

It is a bit challenging for the first timers compared to some of the calm rivers in the country with second to third grade difficulties at some points, several rapids and high current. However, the river is the best place for the rafters and the kayakers at all levels. You will find it to be a worthy trip whether in a group or in couple or single adding some packages to short trekking or hiking. The flow of the river quickens heart beat before beginning the rafting and blood freezing adventures while passing through some rapids.

Bhote Koshi originates from the plateau of Tibet and runs along the Arniko Highway joining Lhasa and Kathmandu. Consisting two different sections for different difficulty levels, the upper section has rapids of grade 5+ while the lower sections include comparatively easier grade rapids. You can select the section based on your experience and wish.

Bhote Koshi is a beautiful setting for an adventure trip with very steep and basically non-stop mountain rapids. One the way to the point, you can observe the natural beauty of the country and understand the change in the air, feeling of entering the world different from the cities, away from the hustle and busy schedule. In addition to the adventure and excitement of Bhote Koshi, you also get a chance to see emerald green fields that are terraced high above the river on precarious slopes.

It is a short adventure trip of 2 days. The rafting point is located at just 3 hour drive away from Kathmandu. It is best to take the rafting trip in the months between October-December and February-April.
